Jan-Feb 2022
I have cleaned off all the old paint from the doors ready for filler and primer application. Yet again rain and freezing temps has stopped all work.
March 2022
When setting up the brakes noticed I had fitted the calipers on the wrong sides with the bleed nipples at the base of the units, reassembled and then had to replace both sets of calipers and brake master cylinder seals again as the first sets had age hardened while on the shelf and leaked on operation.
April - June
Reached a mile stone. All the chassis work completed and wheels fitted. Welded and undersealed rear wheel inner arches so no more laying on my back with the torch and brush. Now address rear window frame work after removing the wrap around glass as both A frame pillars are rusted through.
July - Aug
Removed rear window and all chrome work although all the light fittings were rusted and took time to remove, Lots to address here with both pillars rusted out at the bottoms and the window rubber retaining surround has also patches of rusted lips. The boot lid itself has little work apart from removal of white enamel paint and locking unit to service. Rear bumper and number plate will have to be removed and quite a few dents to knock out, also all the cabin facia boards, parcel shelf and head lining removed to get access to inner metal shell.

After stripping back the rust and filler from rear window pillars there is far more work than first thought. Rust is right through to the cabin much fabrication required and noticed the underside of the boot lid is also full of filler. Using a wooden template to create the curved corner where the window rubber slots onto and then welding on the other edge. Now I have a problem finding a rear screen rubber so am considering using off the roll rubber and adjusting the steel support strip so as to support this option. The original rubber has molded corners to fill the gap from screen to steel runner anyway will post pictures of the final choice incase others are having problems with this area. There won`t be much different between the two as it is tucked behind the outer shell.
I witnessed the demise of another Singer Vogue the other day with deep sadness. She fought a valiant battle but in the end she fell a hero. She did win a cup for the owner bless her
OCT
As usual cut away rust, treated area with rust preventative, made card templates, fabricated steel work. Most of the corner parts have been completed and ready to weld to the bodywork. While attaching the wing infill parts I came across yet more soft solder that had been used to smooth out joining areas when originally manufactured, so I am going to learn this technique to re-apply. I have acquired solder and torch for the purpose.
